May 24, 2012 FERC being asked to define simultaneous exchange before making a ruling on EQR

For the past year FERC has been proposing big changes to EQR reporting requirements. They are asking for more transparency and possible changs in the way the reports are filed; from the current Fox Pro software to XML. Many companies are concerned with changing to format to XML because of what happened to the electronic tariff filings when they turned to XML. But more importantly many companies are wondering about the redundancy of data that FERC continues to ask them to report. The changes to EQR and reporting on simultaneous exchange information is asking companies to report on overlapping portion of already reported transactions. FERC wants transparency and companies want less burden for reporting.

When a final rule has been decided, Systrends will be ready to develop a software that will provide all the necessary requirements and keep the burden off the electric companies.
